Abstract Experimental and theoretical studies are combined to investigate the phenomenon of macroscopic plastic deformation localization in metallic tensile specimens AL6061, HSLA350 Q235. The longitudinal strain cross-section reduction at different instant during testing estimated through measurement technique three dimensional digital image correlation (3D-DIC). Ling weighted-average method referred as WAM is used compare true stress-strain relation obtained from experiment. A new mathematical model suggested estimate zone length, which a crucial parameter that can be anticipate behaviour metals past peak load. effect material property on necking length examined. experimental results show axial within non-uniform. It also found precisely derive stress steels Q235 but not AL6061. round Q235, HSLA350, AL6061 equals six, five, four times their initial diameter, respectively.
